It came with life
another life cycle

I feel concerned
and get them out of there

when do you get angry?
You must get angry sometimes.

Anger is a state of mind
 I uproot from within.

anger

when we mingle
the music changes, and
everyone starts moving differently

or not, it just seems that way
to us
who are odd at that dance

we look at our feet
mumble and whisper
‘don’t fall; keep on dancing’

our thrill is
not to be noticed
act as if we know

our hearts racing
then we notice others
who are as awkward

recognizing the miracle of belonging
our beat is not lonesome
it’s written in the stars

she got so angry
i asked her why and

she got angrier
my mistake

next time my friend gets angry
i won’t ask her why

instead
i’ll hold her in my prayers

she’s having
such a hard time

and tiny feet lead me
to my favorite delicacy 
peanut butter
