An Ode to My Husband

without my husband I’m lost
being in the world looking to fit in

without my husband I’m lonely
nobody to feed, or to laugh with

you may think my husband is unique
you are right – he’s one of a kind

but you must understand ‘unique’ doesn’t define him
he’s everything and everyone

my husband has sides nobody else has
because my love covers them with mist

and when we dance, tete a tete in the dark
our hearts beat as one

my husband gets wiser with time
but never withers with age

he is sexy as the devil
but touches me with adoring finesse

my husband was mine before i met him
and he will be after i die

my husband has no limits
no religion and no faith

he lives the eternal moment
and you will hear from him no protest

i wish you could meet my husband, dear
you’d fall in love with him, I know

but don’t entertain that thought
i am a jealous one, be warned
